Accent Sinks: Jewels of the Bath
Sure, we could turn to the everyday porcelain or enamel-inlay white sink to finish off our bathroom counter. But we spend a lot of time by the sink, so shouldn’t we feel excited by our choice? Instead of surrendering to the typical, consider setting off your bathroom’s design with the perfect accent sink.
Accent doesn’t necessarily need to mean wild color or crazy design, but simply that it complements the overall scheme. Consider a few of these options and tips and you’ll soon be washing your hands in style.
Give it the spotlight.Choose a transparent sink with a touch of color (consider a shade that complements the bathroom’s color scheme, such as this orange), and then position your overhead lighting so it bounces off the sink bowl. You won’t be able to take your eyes of the glow.
Go for the gold. Have you chosen a contemporary silver-toned vanity? Consider topping it with a gold sink. This mix of metallic is nothing less than sophisticated chic.
Think natural. Contemporary bathrooms can easily feel cold when not accessorized properly. To add warmth, ground the space with a sink created from natural materials such as stone. Set it on top of a wooden vanity to secure the natural appeal.
